Curving beach of pale sand and calm blue water lined by a long row of leaning coconut palms, with blue umbrellas and green lounge chairs in the shaded foreground at left, a volleyball net among the palms and a few people sunbathing and wading further along. Clear blue sky with a band of grey cloud at right; warm late-afternoon light. People are small and not identifiable.

Key West has the longest beach list in this guide. Two operators run it. Florida State Parks runs the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. The City of Key West runs the rest: Smathers, Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach, South Beach, Rest Beach at C.B. Harvey Park and Simonton Street Beach. The City’s own Smathers page describes Smathers as one of the four beaches within the City, while its facility pages cover the five named here, so we name and link each one rather than put a number on it. Every hour, fee and rule below was read from the operator’s page on October 24, 2026.
